Adznir Mokhtar is a Professional and Chartered Engineer with over 25 years experience in areas covering strategic management, technology management, manufacturing system, quality, performance management, competency management and entrepreneurship gained through his wide experience working in industry, academic, government and business.
He graduated in Mechanical Engineering from University of Leeds and later obtained his MSc in CADCAM from Cranfield University, UK. He obtained his experience in quality and manufacturing management during his working years with Motorola Malaysia and Motorola UK. He later joined University Putra Malaysia as a Lecturer and then moved to the Prime Minister's Department as the Special Assistant to the Science Advisor.
He is one of the founding member of the management team for Malaysia Industry Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT) in 1993, where he holds the position as the Senior General Manager for Strategic Programmes. He is also one of the key person involved in the initial design of the Smart Partnership activities, leading to the creation of the Langkawi International Dialogue in 1995.
In 1998, he led the establishment of PRIMA Consulting Malaysia PCM) as a spin off MIGHT's Strategic Programme Division. PCM focuses in the areas of Strategic & Technology Management, Information Management,Performance Management and Entrepreneurship Management. The above four areas formed the core business activities of the company.
He has led and also advised many key projects at the national and international levels such as the National Technology Mapping Programme, National Aerospace Blueprint, the Defence Industry Blueprint, PHASER Techno-entrepreneurship Programme, and the National Technology Foresight Programme. In carrying out the various projects at national and industry level, he has been in interaction with hundreds of local and international organizations. He has been involved in consulting and training projects in countries such as Bahrain, Indonesia and Mongolia.
He is currently the Managing Director and the Principal Partner of PRIMA Asia Pacific Consulting. He is a Certified Consulting and Mentoring Professional (CCMP), and his international affiliation includes memberships in the American Society for Quality (ASQ), the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) and the International Association of Coaching (IAC). He is now actively involved in the area of Performance Management, covering subjects such as Balanced Scorecard, Six Sigma, Process Mapping, and KPIs; Entrepreneurship Management; Personal Development and Workplace Skills.
